I don't know what it is about grass, but a lot of pets love it. It's a tasty snack that helps with digestion by adding a bit of fiber to the diet. What if your pet likes grass, but they can't go outside or you are worried about lingering pesticides? Yuppy Puppy City Kitty has the solution to that with their City Kitty Garden!
We introduced you to YPCK a couple of weeks ago, but if you don't know Yuppy Puppy City Kitty (YPCK) has been around since 2014 and was founded by Stella Dowling. Stella wanted to bring her love of pets, people, and parties together as a way for people to become independent financially. YPCK is like many other companies where you can make commissions on sales you make through “Paw-ties”. We met them through BarkWorld last year and really like that they are local to Georgia.
I agreed to test out the City Kitty Garden because I have multiple pets who could really enjoy it! So let's see what all comes with this kit...
You get instructions, of course, a dish of peat moss, and a packet of oat seeds. The oat seeds are organically grown without pesticides and harvested and packaged in the U.S.A. So everything is safe for your kitty or other pet!

The first step is to remove the lid of the peat moss container and put it to the side. Take the peat moss out and combine it in a bowl with the packet of oat seeds and 2/3 cup of water. Stir it all up until everything is combined well.
No, that's not poop... |
So then you move the mixture to the original peat moss dish and put the lid underneath it as a drip tray. Pick a sunny spot, keep the soil moist, and wait!
The grass grew super fast! It took only a couple days to get the grass this long and once it is 3-4 inches it is ready for your cat.
At first, Mr. Kitty didn't know what to do with the City Kitty Garden. But once we plucked a piece of grass and gave it to him he understood from then on out. Grass is good for cats because the fiber helps prevent tummy complications due to hairballs. So let them munch on!
And yes! The rats LOVED the City Kitty Garden! Oliver (from Healing Whiskers) loved it the most as he would dig up the seeds and then they both proceeded to dig up all the peat moss. So I would suggest giving it to your rats on cage cleaning day. Haha. But after your pet is done with their grass just throw it away and order a new one.
In a Nutshell...
- YPCK has been around since 2014 and is a company in which you can make commissions with.
- One of their new products is the City Kitty Garden which is oat grass you can grow in your house during any kind of weather.
- The oat seeds are organic and are grown right here in the U.S.A.
- Grass is good to aid in digestion in cats and dogs and even rats love to nibble on the shoots and seeds!
- You can find a YPCK City Kitty Garden on their website.
I really liked this product! The fact that the seeds are organically grown is a real big seller for me as I want to give my furbabies the best. If you have a grass eater I would definitely look into this for your dog, cat, or even small pet!

I never would have thought of this, but this looks great! My cat loves to chew on everything, but it would be a nice change to see him chowing down on something good for him for once!
