Review: Enjoying the Sounds of Silence with FreezeTag™

Review: Enjoying the Sounds of Silence with FreezeTag™

The Chesnut Mutts were compensated in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are genuinely mine and we would not share a product that we did not fully believe in. Please do not use any image without permission. This post also contains affiliate links.

Let’s face it. Not all of us like the jingle jangle of our dog’s tags with every move they make. And having to deal with split rings when adding tags or changing collars? So much hassle and frustration. There has to be a better way, right? Introducing….FreezeTag™ by Playday™ Labs!

Playday™ Labs has been around since 2014 and has created a great new product called FreezeTag™ which holds your pet’s tags and stops them from banging into each other which makes a loud noise. When your dog starts scratching their collar in the middle of the night while you are fast asleep, you would probably wish you had one of these tag silencers! We were given two FreezeTags to try out with Jada and Bailey, so let’s see how the work…

FreezeTag Instructions

A FreezeTag opened up

The FreezeTag might look a little complicated, but it really isn’t! It has an inner strap (the quieting strap), an outer strap (the tab) and a nut to keep it tightly closed. The material is a non-toxic elastomer  that is like the material that is used for car engine mounts- very strong and great with vibrations. I love that it is made in the U.S.A. and is waterproof, stinkproof, and indestructible!

Jada's tags that go into the FreezeTag

Up to 4 standard tags can fit in your FreezeTag, depending on how thick they are. For Jada’s tag I was able to put her rabies tag, PetHub tag, and Dog Tag Art tag in the quieting strap. The small Dog Tag Art is kind of thick with the rubber covering, but these three are all that she needs!

Ready to attach and go!

After you have your tags attached to the FreezeTag, you can fan them out to see all the information. Also, besides black, you can get a FreezeTag in green, pink, red, and blue. A useful tag silencer, tag holder, and fashion accessory!

So how about it being stinkproof and indestructible? Well, if you have being paying attention since November, (I know you have. Y’all are the best) Bailey has been wearing it for 4 months now and it looks perfect still! She has also gotten into some stinky stuff, (read our last review) but the FreezeTag has stayed odor-free. (Her rabies tag is a big thicker, so I had to put her Dog Tag Art tag on a split ring on the outer loop. Still keeps the tag noise down though!)

"What do you mean I can't wake you up with my midnight scratching anymore?"

And yes, the FreezeTag lives up its name! It is so nice to have quieter tags since I have chronic migraines and loud noises can really make them worse.

Jada and Bailey have many collars and I usually kept to one before we started using the FreezeTag because it was such a hassle dealing with split rings. It literally takes me only five seconds to take the tags off and put them on another collar. Woo hoo!

In a Nutshell…

  • PlayDay™ Labs make the FreezeTag™ which is a tag silencer, tag holder, and even a fashion accessory.
  • It holds 4 standard size tags and comes in black, pink, red, green, and blue.
  • FreezeTag makes it easy to change tags out, switch collars, and of course, keep things quieter.
  • Made in the U.S.A, stinkproof, waterproof, and indestructible!
  • You can buy a FreezeTag on their website or find a retailer near you.

I really do love the FreezeTags and haven’t had any issues with them at all! A perfect collar accessory? Yeah, pretty much.
