Review: Miracle Eyes

I've only been in the pet community for a couple of years, and I am sure you have also seen many products advertising to get rid of stubborn tear stains. But what exactly are these frustrating streaks?

What are tear stains?

Tear stains are caused by a high production of tears which is usually caused by excessive irritation, blocked tear drains, or shallow eye sockets. Any breed can have these problems, but you will see it most notice it more often on light-haired dogs and certain breeds like poodles, pugs, and spaniels. (source)

Why are the stains a reddish color? 

Just like rats, dogs have porphyrin in their saliva and tears. This compound contains iron, which make it appear red and darkens over time. (source)

So what can we do about it?

If you can figure out the cause of the irritation, it can help, but sometimes you can't do much, especially if your dog has shallow eye sockets. Over the counter remedies are definitely worth a try.

This is another product review for MiracleCorp! They asked me if I had any dogs that could benefit from their product Miracle Eyes and I responded with Bailey and my mom's dog, Baby Girl. They have some light staining, but nothing too serious.

Miracle Eyes is a USA made, antibiotic free supplement that you sprinkle on your kitty or pup's food. It comes in 3 different flavors, chicken, vegetarian, and beef.

The only ingredients are cranberry juice powder (can be used to help with bladder infections and prevent ocular disease), Lactobacillus acidophilus (a natural bacteria usually found in the intestines, can prevent yeast growth which causes tear stains), and hyaluronic acid (a natural acid that is found in the body for cell reproduction and support eye health)

We also have chicken liver and some preservatives! Yum, chicken liver!

For Bailey's weight, the recommended amount is 1/2 tsp. The chicken smell is very fragrant and smells good enough to eat!

So Bailey, what's the verdict? YUMMY!

Every time I get the Miracle Eyes bottle out Bailey licks her lips on queue! My mom said that Baby Girl really likes it too. She is a particular eater and actually eats all her food with this instead of picking and choosing which kibble she wants.

Amazingly, I started to see some improvement in Bailey's tear stains just after one week. I was told that you would see improvements after a couple weeks and total improvement after 6 weeks.

5 weeks later..

My mom and I see a little bit of improvement with Baby Girl, but not much. I think continued use might help, but she doesn't have too many tear stains to begin with.

Look how beautiful Bailey is! Her eyes "pop out" more and we even got a compliment from her Grandmama on how Bailey looked. I am very impressed with this product :D

As you can see, every dog is different and not everyone is going to get the same results. Bailey did have a worst case, so perhaps it was more noticeable.

The 4 oz bottle, depending on how big your dog is, should last you a while. You can buy a 2 or 4 oz bottle online from Amazon and some other online pet retailers. On average, the 2 oz is around $16 and the 4 oz $23

• Miracle Eyes for Dogs and Cats promotes eye health as the hair grows out and this prevents future tear stains
• It comes in three flavors, beef, chicken, and vegetarian
• USA made, minimal ingredients
• Main ingredient is dried cranberry juice

• The supplement takes a few weeks to notice a difference, but will see total results in 6 weeks
• I absolutely think that it is worth it to buy this product if your pet has visible tear stains. If I could see an improvement on Bailey who had light staining, I believe that worse cases should also see an improvement as well.
